This blog is so quiet ...

How are you people ? Graduating soon ? How are all of your lives ? All studying ? Any stuff to update ? Have you all been keeping contact ? Having any troubles ? And where have you all gone to ? Still remember me(Belinda) mah ?

Hahas ... as for myself , I am still studying in Melbourne . Currently having my exams . Going back this holiday . Manage to meet better people , even made a new Singaporean girl friend , a Malaysian girl friend , a China girl friend from accounting ! and the other from engineering, Indonesia girl friend from accounting ! and a group of Hong Kong guy friends , they are friends of my Hong Kong girl friend . Manage to meet most of the engineering girls and had them as friends .

As for my studies , I am still ok with it . Have to people to explain to me when I don't know how to do . Group work is also fine , there is one person I can't stand , the rest very very nice . Exams are hurdle , so I had to get pass it .

Ya lor ... that's all from me ... how about you all ... wanna hear from you all soon ...

Something to share ...

Hmmm , this blog seem abandoned . I am wondering if there is any life coaching gathering recently ? Did you girls meet up ? How are you girls ? How are your poly lives ? How are you all coping with studies ? Anything to share ? Tons of questions I wanted to ask all of you ...

Anyway , I had something to share ...

I was partnering this person , let's call her P , to do a pair assignment . During our first meeting to do the assignment , it was alright , we did stuff together . Then the next lesson she didn't come , so I started doing a little on my own .

Then the third week , the lecturers had to check our work . Two days before , I message her to asked if she wants to meet up and complete the part where the lecturer wanted to check . She did not reply . So , I did the assignment alone . She didn't turn up on the checking day . The next day she claimed that she didn't receive my message and because her cousin died , she couldn't come for lesson . I had my doubt . She even claim that she didn't know about the checking day , I pointed to her that its was printed on the assignment sheet . She said to me , ' We must do ... because there will be a check ' when we first read our assignment sheet ,

As weeks passes , she still didn't turn up for the class where we had to do our assignment . Then before the break , I arranged to meet with her to do the assignment so that during the break we could asked the lecturer . She was reluctant to stay back after school , so we arranged meeting on the day of the consultation . On that day , she message me that she is late and could not make it .

Then it was the week of submitting the assignment . I asked if she could meet me on monday . She said she could and will find me after her lab class . And so I waited and waited .

The next day , she told me that she had changed handphone and so she lost my number . Also she tried to enter my hostel but they didn't let her in . My hostel had a reception , if she had tried to go in , they could have called me from the reception . I knew she was telling lie but I kept my cool .

Then on Wednesday , she finally could stay . We did our assignment together . As there are lots to be done , I was expecting to stayed back late . But she said , her boyfriend will helped us checked our work and she borrowed stuff that I had done alone to show her boyfriend . She even promised to meet after that . And so I waited and waited . Till close to 10 pm , she message me that her boyfriend had checked our stuff and redid many things .

The next day , she gave me a heart attack . She left the stuff at home . I was super afraid that she had lost my things or tried to submit my stuff as her own . Then she went home to get it . I am glad that she didn't lose my stuff . When I take a look at the things she claimed she did and had took her the entire night . I asked her some questions like which value she used and what diagrams should be submitted , she gave me all the wrong answers and even gave me a irritated attitude . As I looked closely at the work , I realized it was her boyfriend doing the work .

Then during the break , I went to look for in lab because she said she was staying till 5 pm , but she wasn't there . I messaged and emailed her and ask her what time she will be available so that we can compile our work the next day . There was still one unknown part , she is suppose to calculate the shaft diameter . And so I waited and waited .

Then finally , I dropped her a call , she told me that she had submitted her work . She couldn't contact me because her handphone is out of credit . She had drop an email to the lecturer to inform him about this . I quickly head to the reception to hand in my stuff and luckily even though its was little later than the stated time . The receptionist stamped the date I hand up my work instead of the day after that . So it was not consider late .

After handing up the assignment , I realized that I might have put in the wrong shaft diameter , I called her again and checked with her . She told me that there is no shaft diameter . If there is no shaft diameter , how could she have draw the shaft ? There is only two possibilities , either her boyfriend did it or she didn't want to tell me . I decided to keep my doubts and forget about it . As for the standard of the assignment done , I tried my best ...

P also skipped Math lectures and tutorials and will ask me if she could copy the sample test from me . The sample test is same as the test paper just that the values are changed . So who have answers to the sample test will definitely pass the pass . I was reluctant to lend her because I think its unfair . But I had said that I will be there . So I asked another friend to lend it to her . Through that friend , I found out that P had also asked her to lend her to copy . I felt a little betrayed .

After all had happened , my conscience is clear . As Mirabel had advised , I should draw a line with her in friendship . I will distant myself from her . This will be part of my experience . As for me , through this incident , I felt a little scared and uncertain about other issues like what had she had email the lecturer because she told me that she told the lecturer that I was un-contactable , whether I will face a penalty for handing up split part work .

I am glad its all over for the assignment ...

Hmmm , I didn't know where to start from . I think the news about me going over to Melbourne to study was quite earth shaking . Ya , it was a speedy decision too . I tried to postpone the study to early next year but my dad refuse ... Now , with internet , the process speed up a lot . It took m less than a month to settle everything .

Mirabel wants me to blog about it so that it could be inspiration to you all . What landed to where I am now is maybe the wanting to get a degree . Today's society is so practical that it points down to a paper . So , I think having a degree will be essential to me . I also considered myself lucky because my parents are able to support me financially .

It wasn't a easy decision to make because , I have to leave my comfort zone . Starting a new life in a foreign country . No friends ... I also had to assure my parents that I will be fine on my own . I had to do housework and cook my own meal . Many discouraging things deters me from going . But I tell myself , I never try , I will never know . Even if I went there for a week and decides to come back . I , myself , at least know that I had tried ...

Over these few days , with my dad around , helping me to carry my stuff around and so on . Now, I am on my own ...

It points down to discipline , I am quite reluctant to wash the toilet and clean the floors . I did self-reasoning . I told myself , is this the toilet you want to be in ? Then I washed my toilet's dutifully . All these minor minor stuff , makes a great difference ...

Our 1st Catchup dinner in 2008

Call it occupational hazard or 'trying to be difficult', even during my catch up dinner with you last night, I could not help but ask these leading questions:

* How do you think you have grown in the past year?

* What do you hope to work on in your personal life that will make this year better than the last?

The truth is, i wasn't trying to be difficult. I believe in the power of speaking out your growth journey and personal goals. It is always different when we hear our own selves articulate these, especially the affirmation of our growth.

Were you gals encouraged to hear from one another and yourself? =)

I guess the best answer that i had gotten to my first question above was: moustache. (Guess who?)

So here i was trying to 'poke' into your lives though our official life coaching journey ended more than a year back. But it definitely paid off to be meddlesome in this case. My heart leapt with unspeakable joy as i heard each of you share, especially when some of you expressed that you had overcome certain issues that i remembered from our coaching journey!

Life may not always be favourable to our side, but it is the attitude that we choose that determines our joy or lack of joy in life - we can either sulk our way through, blaming others and ourselves, or know that through even storms, there can be a Rock which we can stand securely upon and not a wave can hit us.

Shereen and Asyiqin, you were missed!

Two peektures, which i surprisingly discovered, summarise what the Lord has done for me during the Israel trip!

Peekture ONE

Before departure. What a tired and dull looking me! (My spirit was a little down in the week before the trip)

Peekture TWO
Arrival back to Singapore. God works in amazing ways. After two nights of intense lack of sleep due to rushing to airport and travelling on plane, i actually looked more refreshed and joyful this night.

Yes God met me in breathtaking ways in Israel, and He restored my soul and topped up His living waters in me.

Glimpses of the Holy Land!

Thinking Israel is some dusty, rusty undeveloped place? Check out its city of Jaffa! The whole west coast of Israel is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea (above), ever so exotically blue.

One of the trip highlights for many was the Sea of Galilee (below). The peace of God dawned on many of our hearts as Pastor Eugene preached on 'Peace'.

Eunice, Stephanie and I spent the time after Pastor's message singing as we swung our legs over the Galilee waters to the beat of the songs of worship to the Lord.

The picture below of the beach at Caesarea reminded me of this verse Matthew 19:14
'Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." '

Cana - The place where Jesus changed water into wine at a wedding.

I discovered that.... I might have been a MacDonald's kid! (Below: MacDonald's sign in Hebrew)

To our delight we had a Chinese lunch! The fare was simple but it caused our taste buds to rejoice and leap.

The restaurant is opened by a pair of Christian Chinese. Their words on the wall definitely lifted me a lot - that I can always depend on God to start afresh (picture on the left), and God's joy is truly the best medicine (picture on the right) - exactly what God had given for me in the first 3 days of Israel!

Want to end here by giving thanks for one of my best travelmates Angela (see below!). We had a wonderful time together the whole of our 4th day, and wow how mightily did we bless each other.

ONE OF THE MOST MINDBLOWING MOMENTS:

Me: 'Angela!! Do you know my greatest passion is dance!' (I had NEVER mentioned this to Angela ever)

Angela: 'So scary. Just a few seconds before you told me this, i had a vision of you dancing with a tambourine! Out of nowhere!'

Both of us: 'Oh GOD.... You are with us!'

Me in my mind: 'Wow God, thank YOu for remembering and affirming this God-given passion!' (Nearly really to tears)

Tonight's movie left me in a mode of much gratitude in my heart towards the Big Guy up there. His ways are truly always higher and better; and everything He does is truly out of His love for us. =)

I thought the phrase coined in the movie 'A little Random act of Kindness (ARK)' was brilliant too. Just now i began to reflect on how each of you has blessed my life in little yet greatly significant ways.

The ARK each of you has blessed me with:

*Yati - readily offering to carry the things on my hands for me!
*Belinda - a trustworthy and sincere support in the things i do!
*Asyiqin - such a humble and teachable girl who is so willing to receive advice and counsel

How are all of you ???

I miss all of you ~ I guess all of you are having your holidays right ? Anyone interested to meet up for gathering ? Where is everybody ?

Recently , I am more involved with trybe activities and I am enjoying them . I hasn't been in touch with trybe activities because I had Life Coaching programme then . Last Saturday , I had meet a new batch coachees and I have to work together with a new coaches . It reminds me of the first day when I met you all .

I remembered having fears that you people will reject me , like for instance , " How old is she ? How much do she know about life ? " . I am a very shy person then , often standing beside Mirabel for guidance . I am not confident in speaking to all of you also . But through knowing all of you better , I am able to overcome my fears .

Lots of uncertainty within me with this new batch honestly . The same old fears I had with you all and also a new one like , whether I am able to work with the new coaches . I hope to overcome all these too .

How have you guys been doing? great? Me having holidays right now...Soon it is going to be the fasting month and also, I am having my attachment soon...hehe.. guess that I am excited over it, gaining new experience and giving a helping hand. And, at the same time for the attachment, I am a bit unsure how it will turn out, whether I would do just fine or otherwise. It is scary at the thought that I am handling lives and and providing care. A little mistake may have adverse effects. Fret not, during my practical test my teacher commented that I was quite careful..hehe..Also, I have to wear the uniform and also black shoes, of which I haven't buy yet..hehe...

Okies.. so enough about me..would like to know about you guys too..go on..blog alright? hehe

I was very touched by Corrinne's description of her newest album:

Hello to all ~ Something to share from me , BELINDA ! Today , I was having my Higher Math exams . Everyone was very stressed up because its a difficult module . Those who take this exam will not leave the room early , so all of you could see how tough the module is .

For Singapore Polytechnic , we have this practice . That for all exams , we will have 10 minutes of reading time ( means no writing for this 10 minutes ) . As the paper is so difficult , a guy sitting beside me started writing when its reading time ! The examiner who was my HM lecturer , was busy going through the paper ( he was looking through to see if we can answer the questions ) and did not take notice of him .

Those who heard the scribbling sound turned and look at him , some were tempted and picked up the pen and write . For me , I sat there till the lecturer said , ' You may start writing . ' . I was proud of myself for not picking up my pen till the lecturer said so . That its integrity in me ! To some whom might think its nothing , some might think its stupid . But to me , I am proud of myself because I abide the examination rules despite all temptations .

To write something before the time starts , helps to save some time and helps one to attempt more questions . But by not doing so , I am able to get the most desevering results I can achieve because I did it by the right way .

I hope that by sharing this , I am able to spread this spirit to all of you . For those who already have it , keep it up ! For those who hasn't , build it up !

HEY.

for those of you who actually encouraged me to go ahead and tell her,guess what?i did.it took me so long to actually gather up the courage to tell her.sooo long.until my cousin told me to stop being so selfish and to put myself in her shoes.so,yesterday,i called her.at first,all i did was beat around the bush,but then,something tells me to just say it.i told her how sorry i was for always taking her for granted.for not realizing she has always been giving me her best.and,know what she said?she said, "thank you."..that two words made me realize how sometimes what we've been looking for is actually right beside or just infront of our eyes..but she did say something else that made me feel utterly guilty and at the same time,strive to be a better friend for her from now on.she said,"just so you know,i've always treated you like a bestfriend,but i guess,you just didn't see it before.."..and i just cried.wow.this is the first time i see friendship in a totally different light.i was so caught up with what i couldn't see,that i neglect this gem of a friend.they say,behind every disaster is a blessing in disguise,i guess,if i hadn't failed my o'level,i wouldn't have realized that i've been neglecting someone so special.someone who's always there for me.

i want to thank you guys for encouraging me to just go and tell her.it means a lot to know that i still have people supporting my back all this while.thank you.something good might come out of this,but if nothing does,and i just remain friends with her,atleast,i won't live life wondering if it was all too late.and atleast i manage to tell her how much she mean to me,right?thank you,gals, for encouraging me to go ahead.*hugs all around*

HEY.
so,here i am.bloggin here for the first time..well,i've got a problem that i wanna share with all of you..feel free to advice or comment.haha.for the past few weeks,i've been doing lots of thinking..and i realized how i've taken someone for granted.someone who has always stood by my side without fail.someone whom i've always overlooked in our four years of friendship..three years ago,this friend,came up to me and told me i was her bestfren.and i pulled away.big time.i thought i cud never have a malay bestfren..eventho i pulled away,she still stick by me.at a time wen i was down,she was there to lift my spirits up.when i pushed her away,or was rude to her,never once that she walked away..this year,i failed my o level.i had to retake.and each time she calls,she never fail to ask if i've started studying..wen all i wanna do is hide and run away from the fact,she drive sense into me.she has never fail me as a fren.never.right now,i finally realize how my bestfren was actually right beside me all these years..my question is,do i tell her how i feel?is it too late?..last week,i tried telling her but..i chicken out and ever since that day,if we do talk,there's always an awkward pause..tell me,what shudd i do?..

I am so sorry ... I said that I could make it for the Sentosa trip but I couldn't make it because I was not feeling well at that time . Anyway , I could see from the pictures that you all had so much fun ! That is great !

I hope that I am able to make it for the next gathering and all of us can make it . I also hope that we can take a new group picture so that Mirabel can update the picture for our blog . I must say , all of us had grown !

My class outing

hey gurls..
I thought of sharing my class outing with all of ya!! [beware!! its long] (^^!)

Yesterday my classmates from polytechnic came to east coast park and we had a bbq!! haha...it was awesome!! Though it was a letdown at first, as not all manage to attend, it turned out to be a great day. Overall i think only about 14++ of us came...Hmm...I have fun on the day itself as well as the time spent for the preparation shopping for the food items at giant!! Shopping for the food items was fun...we did not really have a physical item list to follow, so it was more of a treasure hunt...because we not sure where the things are..haha..

It took awhile to set the fire up but eventually the fire manage to lit up after a long long time...haha...When I reached there, several strikes of thunder could be heard and the the clouds look a bit dark.. It looks like it is going to rain...Another letdown I thought...while waiting my classmates we played "monkey"...others went cycling...I was sitting there and one of my friend from Myanmar asked me why was I sad...but i wasn't... maybe it is just because my facial expression portrays my thinking...because suddenly I felt discouraged as not much people are there and a part of it was because I was tired because I had religious class in the morning... So its been a long day for me..maybe i was feeling alone too.. i wasn't...it was just the feeling =P

As the food start to be cooked, I started eating...It was delicious though! haha we also played some games...hmm then me and another friend went for a walk...The sun have set not long ago but it wasn't too dark so we sat near the shoreline...played tic tac toe in the sand!!...we were reflecting on life..all the ups and downs...that was our topic for our conversation...Whenever there was silence, I would just look at the waves..and feel the calming sensation of the sound when the waves hits the shore. When I looked up several stars could be seen and the bright lights from the ships was indeed a beautiful scenery. Suddenly I felt like crying, not because I was very sad but just because I wanted to...maybe because I haven't been crying in awhile..

Then at around 10++ we packed our stuff, said our goodbyes...went to the mrt station and took the train...When I was in the train, a sudden realization hits me..The day was ending, already? that fast? Hmm but I didn't want it to end..partly because I was having fun without me even knowing it..I felt stubborn...I want it to last longer!!!!!...even the mrt seems to be moving faster...I want to talk longer with my friend in the train!!! haha...When my friend when to the different direction, I was on my way journey home alone...the funny thing is when the mrt announced my destination, I felt that my legs were lazy to stand and get out..partly because I am still stubborn, not wanting it to end and all...haha.. but I managed to reach home before midnight!!! haha...

The moral of reading my lovely, interesting and long story is that I have learn not to judge something by its cover...just as I judge that the day was going to be a letdown..but it wasn't...I WAS HAVING FUN!!!!!

whenever i tell my friends about the CCA i am in in poly
* which is dragonboat :) *

everyone will go, " SIAO EH! "

yes, for once, i thought i was insane to have joined a sport that is is so much of a committment and challenage because of the tough physical training
*well, at least for me, someone who left all my athletic genes in my mummy's womb when i was born*
and risk getting 'toasted' and having muscular and unfeminine arms at the end of the day.

i joined dragonboat for fun in the first place.
because i want to try something different.
( that's the reason why i gave up rock climbing!! sad! )

after several training, i wanted to stay because i want to try and prove myself wrong that i can run, do proper sit up, push up if i persevere, try and practice.
*sports is so not my cake of tea, for goodness sake i suck at sports*

its not easy when people there are athletics, able-built and grouchy.
because some of them gossips and laugh at you if you are 'weak'
WHATEVER.

but i realised, why bother about how other people think about you?

i have only myself to overcome.
and i run not for them,
but for my own sake.

perhaps this is something i am weak in.
but at least i bother to try

and im still trying ((:

i make myself run at least twice week,
climb the stairs if im not rushing for time,
walk instead of taking the bus,
learn to manage my time between 3 cca,family, friends and school work
and many more.

and now i enjoyed rowing!!

Run the Race with Perseverance

If you read my comment to Amy's post (just below), i would like to describe to you one of my personal challenges last year that relates to it.

Last December i took part in the Standard Chartered Half-Marathon (21km) - my very first! To a person who dislikes running and did not enjoy my 2.4km runs in school, i felt almost like i paid $30++ for registration, just to push myself into a pit . But hey, the more i was not comfortable in doing it, the more i wanted to take up the challenge to push myself beyond my limits.

These were my take-aways from the race:

^Pain in the joints between the legs and the torso

^Bruised toenails (Ouch! They dropped off after that!)

^Bad headache

^Over-exerted strain on the stomach (i forgot to eat breakfast! gosh)

Now you must be thinking "Mirabel you siaoz ah!".

But i had NO REGRETS! I AM A WINNER! I conquered myself!

Yes the temporary conditions above tried to discourage me from finishing the race. I felt like my body was breaking into two pieces. But in mental strength, i saw my finishing line right from the start, and crossed it in the end!

And guess what, i was healed from these right after the race. My toe nails are nice now. Ha.

Do not be mistaken that i was one of the top runners to finish the 21km. I didn't care how fast the others ran. I was running my own race, and the most important thing was that i finished it.

And this little experience taught me really, like what i said in my comment to Amy's post, to finish my own race of life well and strong, even with bloody knees after falling!

How are you running your race (of life) today?

Are you too busy comparing your speed with others that you don't push yourself the maximum?

Do you keep looking backwards, wondering how you had done in the past? Remember you cannot change the past, but you CAN determine how your future will be.

Have the end in mind, run the race with perseverance, look AHEAD and stay focused!

How are you guys? Miss you guys loads!!

YEAH!! holidays are finally here. I am having fun in poly, meeting new friends and learning new subjects apart from just maths, sciences and languages. Somehow in poly I feel as though time flies by fast...Just in a blink of an eye I have been schooling for abt 2 months now..It feels like just yesterday I was in school for the first time being a freshmen and all..

Nursing rocks!! haha.. hmm I am having a blast..My lab lesson is in a hospital setting and I get to play with the maniquein... not exactly "play" but more of practice on it...Right now, I am learning about bones... its soo interesting.. I get to observe the skeleton bones, some real ones and others made of plastic...Boys-there's only three of them in my class...but I admire their passion for nursing..

I wish all of you the best and hope to receive updates soon...

To my wonderful LCs and best coach intern Belinda,

I was not surprised that, when i asked one word from each of you to describe how you feel about your upcoming stage of life - enrolling into polytechnics, taking the O'levels, graduating from polytechnic, most of you said 'fearful' and 'worried'. It is understandable.

Nonetheless i want to bless you with courage. Courage to brave up, and move forward, knowing that the future is there for you to behold. You may face successes and failures altogether, but remember, failures too are excellent opportunities for us to learn and grow out of, and into our potentials.

If you never give up, nobody can ever make you give up, on pursuing your dreams.

I am excited for each and every of you! =) Having walked through you gals for almost two years (Belinda, 4 years?), I have seen each of you grow, and i know that you gals really have what it takes to shine, more and more.

Let me say this again, thank you gals for allowing me into your lives! =) *huggies*
